A journey of 1000 miles begins with a small step. CIT Alumni Association originated with a promising intention of bringing all the Alumni under one umbrella and to move forward with single minded dedication to contribute our best to our Alma Mater. This fledgling called CITAA is born to sour higher, higher and higher to proclaim the fame of the Alma Mater at greater heights. The CITAA is constantly assisting the alma mater in terms of placements by arranging placement drives by Alumni HR. The association constantly organizes talks and seminars. The activities organized by the association are highlighted below.

Coorg Institute of Technology Alumni Association organized Alumni Connect 2021 on the 27th of November 2021 at Kodava Samaja Bangalore (Alumni Meet) under the Presidentship of Mr. Appaiah K G. Mr. Lokesh Kariyappa, Global Head of Executive Hiring, Nokia Bengaluru and Mr. Vinayak B A, Head of Location Development, Nokia, Bengaluru were the Chief Guests of the function. The directors of the management Sri. C P Beliappa, President KES, Dr. M C Kariappa, Vice President,KES, Sri. M T Nanaiah ,Vice-President, KES, Sri. Rakesh Poovaiah, Secretary, KES , Sri C M Subbaiah, Director KES were present for the meet. Dr. M Basavaraj, Principal Coorg Institute of Technology and Dr. Kavitha P C Coordinator of CITAA were also present.
Alumni Achievers from various fields were recognized and were honored in the meet. The achievers were Mr. Chethan R , Superintendent of Police, Mysuru, Ms. Sharanya Rao, Lieutinant in Indian Army, Mr. Dinesh, Cyber Security Expert, Mr. Sudhakar Shetty, Motivational Speaker, Mr. Appaiah K G, Mr. Manjunath, certified dog behaviorist, Mrs Kirthan K M for securing gold medal in M.Tech Degree and Mr. Gilan Karumbaiah student of second year mechanical engineering for developing electrical motor bike. Mrs. Theertha welcomed all the alumni , Mrs.Kirthan K M, Joint Secretary of CITAA presented a report on the activities of the Alumni Association. Mr. Manjunath, Secretary of CITAA introduced the Execeutive Committee members to the gathering. Dr. M Basavaraj delivered the Principal’s address. Mr. Appaiah K G delivered the presidential remarks. Dr. Kavitha P C Coordinator of CITAA rendered the vote of thanks. Mr. Uthappa Prashanth, EC Member of CITAA was the host of the function.
A total of 50 Alumni Participated in the meet. The final year students of the institute were given an opportunity to attend the program and interact with the Alumni. After the formal function the EC members meet with the management was held.
CIT Alumni Meet 2020 was organized virtually through zoom platform on the 26th of December 2020. A total of 75 Alumni’s participated in the event. The Alumni activities for the upcoming year was discussed. CIT Alumni Mr. Manjunath, Mr. Chidambar S Nanavate, Mr. Sudakar Shetty, Mr. Chethan R, and Appaiah K.G. were the key speakers.
Coorg Institute of Technology Alumni meet was organized on the 27th of April 2019 at Coorg Institute of Technology, Ponnampet. A total of 50 Alumni participated in the meet.
To create awareness about the importance of Civil Service Examination among aspiring youth, a programme was organized at Coorg Institute of Technology, Ponnampet on Thursday 28th April 2022 at 11:00 AM. Mr. Chethan R, Superintendent of Police, Mysuru District & a proud Alumnus of CIT was invited as the Chief Guest, Kodava Education Society’s President– Sri. C. P Belliappa, Hon. Secretary- Sri. C. P Rakesh Poovaiah, Principal of CIT- Dr. M Basavaraj, Mr. Chethan R & the coordinator of CITAA- Dr. Kavitha P C inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the students & participants Mr. Chethan R presented an overview of various job opportunities to choose from after graduation & also the importance of taking up Civil Services Examination.
During the course of his presentation, Mr. Chethan underscored the importance of dedication & preparation required to crack Civil Services examinations. He answered various queries from participants at the end of the interactive session.
On this occasion ‘CIT Sankalp Team’ was inaugurated by the Chief guest Mr.Chethan R. The team Sankalp aims at students’ to build network with alumni, inculcate innovation and to make them socially responsible. The objectives will be achieved by involving them in alumni association and Technology Business Incubator(TBI) activities and the activities related to the social service.
Neha Dechamma compered the programme. Harshitha, Gagana students of Civil engineering department rendered prayer. Yashik P K from the department of Electronics & Communication introduced the guest & Taksha Ganapathy of Computer Science engineering department proposed vote of thanks.
A “Technology Training and Internship Programme” was inaugurated by the CIT Alumnus, Mr. Manjunath M R on 8th of July 2019. The final year students attended the session. The speaker provided insights on the new technologies and urged the students to take up training and internship in the booming technologies.
A farewell program was organized by the Mechanical department on the 7th of June 2019. As a part of the program there was a talk organized by the CIT Alumni Association with CIT Alumnus Mr. Lithin V V as the speaker. The topic of the talk was Insights about various job opportunities in India and abroad.
The technical club of CIT organized a workshop on Android Application Development on the 9th of February 2020 in association with The CITAlumni Association. The resource person of the event was the President of CITAA Mr. Appaiah Ketolira Ganapathy. The students of the final year were the participants of the event. By the end of the workshop the students were able to create their own simple Android Application.
A webinar was organized on the 31st of August 2020 by the CIT Alumni Association on the topic “Chasing Your Passion”. CIT alumnus Mr. Jagath Venkat
CIT, Alumnus,Fashion photographer & Film maker was the invited resource person. The webinar was open to all the students of the institute. The resource person spoke about how important it is to set up a goal and the commitment towards achievement of the goal. He advised and motivated the students chase their passion.
On the 5th of November 2020 a webinar titled “A Guide to Engineering Project Work” was organized by the CIT Alumni Association to the final and pre-final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Mr. Brijesh ,CEO, Just Robotics and Mr. Appaiah Ketolira Ganapathy, Senior Developer and Intrapreneur , SAP Labs India were invited as the resource persons.The program was intended to motivate the students to take up innovative projects as a part of their final year curriculum which would help them in career building.
CIT Alumnus Mr. Kenith Aiyappa was invited as the resource person for a webinar on “The essence of Artificial Intelligence” organized by the CIT Alumni Association. The webinar was organized for the final and pre-final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.The Resource Person shared his knowledge about the basic concepts of machine learning which included the evolution of machine learning and the types through which a machine can learn. He also spoke about github where the students get an opportunity to use the codes developed by others when they create an account. He also spoke about the various platforms through which the students can develop a machine learning project. The session was highly informative and the students look forward for more sessions by the resource persons. A total of 75 students participated in the webinar.
CIT Alumni Association organized a webinar on “Career in Data Science and Data Technology”. CIT alumnus Adarsh K P, Senior Data Developer, Warner was the Resource person. The program was organized for the final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
A Skill Development program was organized for the final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Electronics and Communication. The program was organized in association of the CIT Alumni Association with CIT Alumnus Mohammed Idris as the resource person from 22/01/21 to 27/01/21. The students were trained on the different programming language concepts that will help students to clear technical round of the corporate interviews. After the completion of the training session that students were given insights on TCS NQT.
Elfonze Technologies, Bangalore conducted a Campus placement drive on 12th March 2022, at Coorg Institute of Technology, Ponnampet. The drive was conducted for all the final year students the drive was organised by Alumna Ms.Shruthi,Elfonze Technologies.
Elfonze Technologies is a premier IT Services, Consulting, Product Development, Staff Augmentation, and Corporate Training firm that proffers to manifest the thoughts to reality. The Honourable Secretary of Kodava Education Society, Mr. C P Rakesh Poovaiah was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session of the program. The CEO of Elfonze Technologies Mr. Vijai Velu was the Guest of Honour for the inaugural function.
The inauguration session was followed by a small presentation by the HR team of Elfonze which gave detailed knowledge of the company and the job role. After that, the following rounds of drives were conducted.

Around 70 candidates participated in the campus recruitment drive, out of which 16 candidates were shortlisted for the final round. After the third and final round, 11 students were selected by the company.
