• Students of the second year Indrajith S, Shishir V Chandra, Lithin Muthanna A G and Kaveramma O K participated in the International Hackathon organized by the Department of Information Science & Engineering GMIT, Davanagere. They developed a website named “Krishivill”. This website is open source which helps farmers to sell their crops at a reasonable price directly to the customer. They secured second place in the event and received a cash prize of Rs.5000/-.
Anusha K P secured 5th rank in her 8th semester examinations held during July/August 2021 by Visveshwaraya Technological University.
Likith of the final year of Department of Computer Science and Enginnering is placed for two companies Infosys and Cognizant.
M M Danish and Garshitha of the second year of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering presented a paper on E-commerce Business Modes held at Maharaja Institute of Technology, Mysuru and secured 2nd position in the paper presentation
The Students of the final year of Computer Science & Engineering Divin, Ranjitha, Monisha and Niriksha participated at the National Level Technical Competitions held on 16th October 2019 at GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology For Women, Mysuru. They presented a new project innovation idea on the topic.
“ABC Technologies” visited our institution on August 23 and conducted a recruitment process to select students and make them Industry-ready. Yashaswini M. from 7th semester got placed for ABC Technologies for Training.
Likith, Shivika and Sujani from the final year and Akshay student from the pre final year of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering participated in a Hackathon organized on 7/9/19 and 8/9/19 by Infosys MakerSpace. They designed the project on spot using the devices provide to them and presented a project on “Attraction of the public to help in waste disposal and segregation. Out of participants the team managed to secure 5th position.
The Students of Computer Science & Engineering were provided an internship by ABC from 7/07/2019 to 7/08/2019. In the program they were trained to be industry ready in the domains of Aptitude Answering, Data structures, Python Basics and Data Science.
Our students participated in the Debate competition which was organized by the Cauvery College Gonikoppal on August 10th 2018 and Greeshma Gangamma studying in the 3rd semester secured second prize
Five-days Add-on course was conducted for all the final year and pre-final year students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering to enlighten them about the AI & Data Science under the title “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Data Science”.The resource persons to this Add-on Course were Prof. Deepak Kulkarni, Assistant Professor Department of ECE,KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi and Mr.Vishwas Guruvadeyar, Software Engineer, Eyesec Cyber Security Solutions Pvt Ltd, Belagavi .
The Inaugural ceremony was conducted on 07th June 2022 at third floor Seminar Hall at 09:30 A.M. The chief guest for this ceremony was the Principal Dr. M. Basavaraj.
The students were able to gain great knowledge about the concepts of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. The hands-on session enabled the students to enhance their knowledge horizon on the programming aspects of AI and Data Science.
Finally, Valedictory function was organized at 04:15 P.M. The chief guests for this ceremony was Dr. B E Rangaswamy, Registrar(Evaluation), VTU Belagavi.
A One-day hands-on session was conducted for third semester students by the department on 24th February 2022 on the topic “Introduction to Analog Electronic Circuits”. The resource person to this hands-on session was Mr. Vishwas D B, Assistant Professor at NIEIT, Mysuru.
A six days refresher programme on “Computer science and Engineering” was organized by the department in association with AICTE and ISTE New Delhi from 17/12/2021 to 23/12/2021. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Colonel B. Venkat, Director, Faculty Development Cell, AICTE New Delhi. Prof. Daina K.K, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering introduced the resource person to the gathering. The chief guest spoke in length about National Education Policy – 2020 and highlighted the importance of a good education policy for the overall skill development of the students.
The Department of CS&E organized a workshop on “ Smart Farming using IOT- A Bird Eye View” .The workshop was conducted for six days from the 19th of July 2021 to 24th of July 2021.Mr. Sumeet Hanje, TeckGenie Solutions, Belagavi was the resource person for the workshop. The Resource Person very well started the workshop by educating all of them about the basics of IOT and the importance of Agriculture. He then discussed about the various IOT boards and in specific shared his knowledge about the boards Ardunio UNO, Node MCU. How the different sensors can be interfaced with these devices was discussed. The resource person then educated about interfacing nodemcu with smart phone which is a part of the working model of Smart farming. Finally he gave he complete picture of IOT in Smart Farming. The sessions were highly interactive . Students as well as Professors from other college presented their queries before the Resource Person in the discussion session. The resource person patiently cleared-queries raised by the participants. A total of 85 participants very present in the program. The Principal Dr. Basavaraj M, President Sri. C P Beliappa and Secretary Sri Rakesh Poovaiah were also present in the program.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Coorg Institute of Technology organized a three-day workshop on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in association with the symposium committee, IIT Mumbai, to spread the knowledge regarding this novel aspect of technology. The programme was inaugurated on the March 3, 2020. Sri C P Belliappa, President of Kodava Education Society, who presided over the programme, made a call to the students to focus primarily on widening the realm of knowledge by honing the skills that are essential. The Vice President of Kodava Education Society Dr. M C Kariappa briefed the audience about the prominence attached to this way of learning and he in his speech stressed that Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is tremendously replacing human activity and creating a revolution in the field of education.
The Chief Trainer was Mr. Prathamesh Shinde of the ITG Solutions. The Principal, Dr. Kavitha P C was also present in the program. A total of 110 students participated in the program.
Department of Computer Science & Engineering arranged a half day workshop on Data Science for the 3rd sem students on 29th of August 2019. The workshop was conducted by DataLore Labs, Bengaluru. It mainly focused on the importance, skills and opportunities in the field of data science.
A two-day International conference on Emerging Trends in Science & Technology was conducted in CIT, on 11th & 12th May, 2017. The conference received good response from delegates as well as students. The papers for CSE/ISE were judged by Dr. Manjaiah D.H, Professor, Mangalore University.
A three-day workshop was conducted by the department on “Cloud Computing with Google App Engine & Codenvy”, from 20th April to 22nd April, 2017, at CIT. The resource person was Mr. Pravin Hanchinal, CEO of INWHIZZ IT Innovations. The target audience was students from 2nd & 3rd year
Our department organized a five-day workshop on “Internet of Things” from 9th October to 13th October 2018 in association with Digitoad Technologies. The event was inaugurated in the presence of eminent personalities: Hon’ble Vice-President of KES, Dr. M.C. Kariappa, Honorary Secretary of KES Mr. Rakesh Poovaiah, the Principal, the HOD of Computer Science and Engineering Department, Mr. Rohit P (Training and Resource Developer) and Mr. Kumar R (Application Engineer) from DigiToad Technologies.
Our Department hosted an Induction program on 23rd August 2018 which focused on “Personality Development and Team Building”. The session was initiated by the then HOD of the Department, Prof. Muthappa K.A. and the session was later continued by Prof. Duniya Dechamma. Multiple Team Building activities were given to the students by Prof. Thangamma and this helped students understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Tips were given to improve their personality.
On 15th May 2023, 46 students from 6th semester Computer Science and Engineering along with 3 faculty members of Coorg Institute of Technology visited Skanray Technologies, Hebbal Industrial Area, Mysuru. The visit was organized with prior permission and guidance of our Principal Dr.M Basavaraj.
Mr. Ragavendra emphasized on the goals of enhancing more ideas, new designs, and new products while gaining access to worldwide markets. The students were made to form two groups and students were taken to Skanray technologies manufacturing unit with product range covering Patient Monitoring Systems, High-frequency X-ray devices, Electro-surgical units, Anaesthesia workstations, ICU Ventilators, Syringe pumps, Dental and Critical care devices.
Industrial visit offered a great source to gain practical knowledge. Students observed and learnt how theoretical concepts are put into actions, thereby aiding their practical learning. Students were exposed to real working environment and shown how things are done in an organization.
